province Now these [are] the children of the {province} that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, ever y one unto his city; province Be it known unto the king, that we went into the {province} of Judea, to the house of the great God, which is builded with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls, and this work goeth fast on, and prospereth in their hands. province And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that [is] in the {province} of the Medes, a roll, and therein [was] a record thus written: province And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the {province} of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which [is] in Jerusalem: province And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the {province} [are] in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also [is] broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire. province These [are] the children of the {province}, that went up out of the captivity, of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his c ity; province Now these [are] the chief of the {province} that dwelt in Jerusalem: but in the cities of Judah dwelt every one in his possession in their cities, [to wit], Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the Nethinims, and the children of S olomon's servants. province For he sent letters into all the king's provinces, into every {province} according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language, that every man should bear rule in his own house, and that [it] should be published ac cording to the language of every people. province Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that [were] over every {province}, and to t he rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and [to] every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring. province Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that [were] over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every {province} according to the writing thereof, and [to] every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring. province The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every {province} was published unto all people, that they should be ready against that day. province And in every {province}, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, [there was] great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes. province Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that [is], the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth [day] thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants , and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which [are] from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every {province} according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to th eir writing, and according to their language. province Wherein the king granted the Jews which [were] in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and {province} that would assault them, [ both] little ones and women, and [to take] the spoil of them for a prey, province The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every {province} [was] published unto all people, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves on their enemies. province And in every {province}, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them. province And [that] these days [should be] remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every {province}, and every city; and [that] these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed. province If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a {province}, marvel not at the matter: for [he that is] higher than the highest regardeth; and [there be] higher than they. province Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole {province} of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise [men] of Babylon. province Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the {province} of Babylon: but Daniel [sat] in the gate of the king. province Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height [was] threescore cubits, [and] the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the {province} of Babylon. province There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the {province} of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. province Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the {province} of Babylon. province And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I [was] at Shushan [in] the palace, which [is] in the {province} of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai. province He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the {province}; and he shall do [that] which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: [yea], and he shal l forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time. province And when the governor had read the letter], he asked of what {province} he was. And when he understood that he was] of Cilicia; province Now when Festus was come into the {province}, after three days he ascended from Caesarea to Jerusalem. ~~~~~~
